Default What's wrong with your LS?

Here's all my problems...

-Gas mileage has dropped about 1.5 MPG from about 2 months ago. Its getting about 16 MPG now.

-All rotors, warped enough to where you can see the bends in them.

-Loss of power and gas mileage. (0-60 time is like 9+ seconds now) and more engine noise

-A/C fans (2 black fans) don't come on.

-Transmission slipping

-Broken drivers side seat adjustor

-Burnt out 'high, AC, defrost/leg' LED buttons, and MPH, RPM green text guage LEDs. (not actual white numbers and arms)

-Seats have no cushion, it's like sitting on a brick.

-Worn timing belt (to be replaced with tax return)

-Small dings, chips, and dents in body. + misc interior rattles

-ALOT of wind noise from passenger side window at 45MPH+

Eh, old cars.

Hmm.....My 93 LS also have some problems:
1. Engine Mount & Trans. Mount need to be replace($1500 all
together)
2. Rattles.......Maybe the loud bass have something to do with it.
3. When turn off the A/C, RPM drop 500 and the engine start to
shake and stall.
I think that's about it.

Default LS

1992 LS400 burgandy/ivory, full spec, 85k miles.

one oxygen sensor

oil/filter changes, mobil 1

air filter changes.

top off anti-freeze

New tires twice

F/R brake pads, turned front rotors

Back to Lexus, any shop, only once.

Otherwise everything factory original.

Runs perfect but just as with all Lexii, has original factory climate control design flaw.

Front headlights are not even (one is higher than the other)

Some dents on the side from college parking lot

Ripped leather front passenger seat

Nothing else major...all minor stuff

Where do I begin?

- Stripped interior. Ima sounddeadening and installing my system.

- Power steeringalmost never works. Got all the parts, have no time to talk to my mechanic.

- One of the valves is knocking

- No air conditioning...no time to take it to mechanic.

- Bodykit needs a few screws...very solid overall though.

- When done this thing gets repainted red

I have a 93LS400 with 81,500 miles.

1. Suspension creaks while driving slowly over uneven pavement.

2. Passenger side seat belt does not retract unless I push
the release button.

3. Rear light out indicator and dome light out indictator go on
and off a once or twice a week, but they both work fine.

that's it.

Front headlights are not even (one is higher than the other)
I hear it's normal for the driver's side headlight to be aimed lower than the passenger side headlight. Due to the fact that the driver's side headlight is more likely to blind oncoming traffic.

1. Suspension creaks while driving slowly over uneven pavement
I just started noticing this on my '91 LS. If I drive over a speed bump at faster than a crawl, my front suspension makes a creaking sound.
It sounds like the springs are rusty or something.

Either the springs or the shocks. The shocks/struts make a loud grind/creak noise when worn out over bumps.

Back left spring gave...so the car looks like it's limping..

LOL

I asked mechanic to check it twice...he said nothing wrong with the housing, just the springs compressed a bit...

The creaking over bumps is not caused by wornout shocks, your front Strut Bar bushings are worn. I had mine lubed and now everything is fine. eventually i will just replace them but you cannot replace just the bushings, you have to buy a new strut bar assembly.

hear are all my problems I just took some from the Ivangundy's message, I'm going on 102,000 miles already.

-Loss of power and gas mileage. (0-60 time is like 9+ seconds now) and more engine noise

-Transmission slipping

-Burnt out 'high, AC, defrost/leg' LED buttons, and MPH, RPM green text guage LEDs. (not actual white numbers and arms)

-Seats have no cushion, it's like sitting on a brick.

-ALOT of wind noise from passenger side window at 45MPH+

as for the factory stereo, I changed it

also my suspension is not what it used to be

it's weird because different people take different types of care for their car but at the end they end up the same........
