Default favorite roads to drive

I drove I-17 between Santa Cruz, CA and San Jose, CA today. I was reminded why I love this car so much. For those of you who don't live in the Bay Area, it's a very windy mountain road going through forests and passing by reservoirs, two lanes in either direction, with a concrete divider in the center. Speed limit is suppose to be about 50. On most of the highway, there's no place for cops to hide. Often times it's bumper to bumper. Today traffic was flowing, and I got to enjoy carving turns and passing people who had to slow down for turns!

p.s. played Pasatiempo golf course today too. Perfect weather. Beautiful day.

Yes I love highway 17 also. But if you enjoy taking these kinds of roads then I suggest we meet up sometime. My group and I have been meeting up lately and we have been taking a couple mountain roads such as highway 84, highway 35, highway 9, and Calaveras. Our next adventure will take place at Big Basin. If you wish to join us you are more than welcome.

I went up there this year in the spring after all that rain, and it was crazy because the road was sinking down the hill into the ocean. There was one part where the road sank at least two inches with a huge tear in the pavement. I drove very slow that day.

Hwy 35 in between Hwy 92 and 9. We used to take that drive once a month in my S2000. Still haven't done it in this car but will very soon.

Hmmm... gas is not cheap in these days!

I prefer driving at 15mph at Santana Row Southbound, and make a u-turn at the end then onto Santana Row Northbound....

If time is allowed, I would make antoher U at Steven's Creek and back on to the southbound again to look for a side parking. Have a cup of cheap coffee, sit on the couch and spy on who ever is looking at my ride.

You know... I see people take photos and walk around my ride to see the GFX. In the wrost case I even see people TOUCH it, and my face goes

Like it or not, this is just my way of enjoying the car!

Careful on the 17 if you're driving late at night/early in the morning. Deer and other random wildlife have a bad habit of chillin' on the road

Highway 92 between 280/Skyline and 1 on a cool Tuesday afternoon between 1:30 and 2:30. Less traffic and no stop signs.

Skyline south of Woodside road.

For you So. Cal types Topanga from 1 to Mullholland.

You cruise Santana Row in your wife's car? In reality, if anyone wanted to look at an IS250/350, they can cruise 15mph down the Blvd and bust a U at Stevens Creek Lexus anyday of the week.

My favorite NorCal backroad is the Livermore side to Mt. Hamilton when there are no bikers riding up/downhill. It's long and twisty, but there is alot of beautiful country up there.

Hwy 9 is something I have to try when I have more time.

pretty surprising, considering that on santana road there are tons of other exotic cars that people will stare at and die for.
