Default Alignment OK after installing Eibach Pro-Kit or Tanabe NF210?

Hello,

Seems to be a lot of posts about people dropping their IS's but I haven't read anything about any alignment issues. So those with the Eibach Pro-Kit or Tanabe NF210, were you able to get your alignment back within the specified range?

Thanks,
TJ

i called 3 alignment shops out here in socal and all 3 did not have 2IS specs yet. i will try again this weekend.

as of right now, seems like dealerships are the only places to get alignment.

so you think the dealership will align after its been lowered? I don't think they'll want to touch it.

even if they do decide to do it, won't the OEM specs be wrong since the car is lowered?

Whether a dealership will work on a car with aftermarket parts varies. Some do and some won't. I can't say I blame the ones that don't as they may not want to deal with the possibility of sub-standard aftermarket parts, bad installs, etc.

In terms of the adjustability, there is usually a little adjustment available with the factory suspension pieces/parts. Much of it depends on the amount of drop.

Yup... I called 2 places, both said they didn't have the new books - whatever that means. One said he should be getting them in a couple of weeks - another whatever that means.

When I did the drop, my dealership didn't even have the specs yet. I have the DF and the alignment is fine just camber in the rear.

some dealers will align a vehicle the best they could. you can always adjust the toe back to factory specs. the difficult part is aligning the camber. most cars on the road do not have camber adjustments, so most shops will align the car to drive as straight as possible.

i have seen a fixed up LS400 at my local dealership getting alignment. it was fixed up VIP style with the wheels "poking" out. alignment is all labor, so if there is a problem, they just blame you for lowering your car and collect your money.

So they should be getting the specs in the next couple of weeks though, this is confirmed?

I would just call up the local dealer(s) and ask them to fax you a copy of their alignment specs out of their service manuals.

If no one gets this before I take mine in for it's 1K mile check-up in about 2 weeks, I'll try to get it from my service advisor then.

Alignment should be able to get back within factory ranges with the NF210. On an IS250 AWD, one Lexus dealership reported that front was able to be corrected within factory specs, and the rear was within a degree.

pr0vakativ, please do post that information! It will be a great help for the 2IS owners

It'd be interesting to see the tread life for the tires of these lowered IS's with these more agressive tire wheel combos and iffy alignments. Also don't forget that after a month or two when these new springs settle down your alignments will be off again.

I think once they settle, within 100 miles or so, I heard the Tanabe don't sag and the settling is more in the spring location than the sping itself
