Smile Clear bra installed by Premier!

At long last!! The day finally came for Sam and his crew from Premier Mobile Aesthetics Group to come out and install the clear bra on my IS350. Thankfully my car had only picked up a handful of rock chips on the highway since I bought it, and I tried to patch them up as best as I could with some touch-up paint before the install.

These guys came totally prepared with all kinds of tools, rolls of protective film, and probably a dozen spray bottles. It took them about two and half hours to complete the install, and I got to watch them work their magic. They take flat pieces of film, and with lots of finesse and technique they massage them onto all the curved pieces of the car with nary a wrinkle or crease. It takes a lot of patience, and an attentive eye for detail. I am a bit of a perfectionist myself but obviously don't have the skills that these guys have... that's why I am glad they did the install!

From more than a few feet away you can't even see the edge of the film across the hood. I tried to take a few pictures of it but you can only see the line on a few of them. On the front bumper and the lights, they did a very clean, seamless job. Most people probably won't even notice it unless you are looking closely at the front of the car.

here is a link to my photo album where you can only see a faint line across the fender and hood if you look carefully (go to photo #40):

A big thank you to Sam and the guys from Premier -- now I can take the car out on the highways, without having to worry about rock chips or bug splats ruining my day. Now to get through the last few hundred miles of the break-in period...

Premier does installs all over the SF Bay Area and even travels to SoCal from time to time. You can contact Sam at sam@premiermobilegroup.com for more info.

Ahhh yes

Great to hear that Sam continues to do a great job on custom clear bra installs.

Over the past 2 years, Sam has done a lot of NorCal members cars. Never heard of any complaints, but plenty of compliments.

Here's the installation in progress on INDGOGRLs car

Hey if you guys dont mind me asking how does it look? As you know my car was just painted but my buddy who owns the bodyshop tells me he would not let me do this. I would have to take it somewhere else. He had strong feelings on this. What do you guys think?

Says the stuff sticks out too much and in time it discolors.

It does not stick out too much, in fact, will probably not be noticeable at all on your silver car. As far as the discoloring goes, that depends on the film used and from what I remember, Venture film was the one to go with, but now I think there's a better film out.

E-mail Sam or go to his website to see a gallery of fine cars that he's done and you'll see why you'll get it down the road as well. Its a pain to drop your car off every so often to get the front end repainted. This way, you'll just wipe off the dust and have a brand new front end every time...

Your bud is talking the old 3M Xpel stuff, plus these jobs by Premier are custom so they don't show on the edges like they do on the pre-cut jobbers.

Premier does pre-cut film too for less money, but you will need a custom cut because of your non-factory body parts.

Check out INDGOGRL, redgs4, b_chau cars coming to the dyno meet. They all had work done by Premier.

of course your bodyshop buddy doesn't want you to get the clear bra, if you get it that means he won't get the business of repainting your front end every 2 years or so

it's really not that noticeable. You have to walk up to the car and look at it closely to notice the edges of the film where they show. Sure sometimes the edge will catch the light and look really visible but it's no big deal. Small price to pay for keeping the front end clean looking for years! In a few years people will be looking at your car and not notice the bra, they will notice how nice the front end still looks after so many miles.

the newer stuff isn't supposed to discolor as long as you take care of it, i.e. wax it just like you would the paint. and even worse case scenario, it turns yellowish after a few years, you take it off, and what do you have underneath? A perfectly clean paint job because the film did its job of protecting the finish.

though if you just got a repaint, you might want to wait like 30 days for the paint to cure completely before putting on a film. it's safe to put on new cars because by the time the car travels from factory to ship to port to dealer, it's probably been 30 days since it got painted, and they cure the paint under higher heat from the factory.

yea, it's worth it to get the clearbra. i had sam clearbra my vertex bumper and for a whole year, in the sun, it was fine. No discoloration whatsoever. I had him redo it again since my front bumper had to undergo some repairs, and the second job is even better. My only complaint is the fact that the car is a daily driver, especially on the highways. I had the luck of gettin hit by a rock the size of a quarter, and it went through the clearbra at about 95mph. But luckily it's not so noticeable so I'm probably gonna hold off on another wrap. But to Sam and premier mobile, all of my friends hardly see the clearbra until they literally put their nose up to it or until i tell them it's there.

I just got my clear bra from Sam and Wilson and these guys are great. I did the custom full hood and custom bumper though which turned out awesome. It's just depressed that its raining all week and I can't drive my car.

On a side note, Sam mentioned that they were going to have a meet for the grand opening on their shop on April 29th. He said the would be food and exotics there I might try and get the day off just to see the exotics

Nice. And don't forget us So Cal guys as well. I had my clear bra done by Sam and crew a while back, and it still looks as great as the day it was installed. I'm so glad that I went with their installation.

Sam did a wonderful job on my car. I am going to have to have them come back and wrap my whole hood. Right now I still have the pre-cut 3M Xpel on the hood. Looks OK, but the Venture film is noticably better.

The 3M film is inferior to the Venture. You can really tell the difference.
