Anyone know how to get ink from a regular bic ball point pen off my leather. Ive already tryed Lexus Leather conditioner and it isnt really working. There must be some way without rubbing the leather raw.

thanks guys

Most folks recommend rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol. I just had the same problem, and it removed about 50% of the ink. Love that ivory interior.

From what I've read, Lexol Leather Cleaner should work pretty well. I have not used it personally so I couldn't recommend it for this specific application.

Also, you're using the Lexus Leather Conditioner to try and get the stain out? You should try the Lexus Leather Cleaner (if anything from Lexus). The Conditioner is meant to be applied after using the cleaner to clean the leather to make it nice and supple. The conditioner's main purpose is not to 'clean.'

Lexus parts should have told you that their cleaner would not take the INK out. [well known fact].

Hair Spray is recommended as a ink stain remover (home remedy). I have NOT tried it on leather ever.

Unfortunately, once the ink has set in the leather assuming you have a light color. No cleaner will take out the ink without removing some of the original color. You can take your car to a professional upholstery shop and they can blend your leather's cover over the ink stain.

Another home remedy I was told was liquid hand soap. Haven't tried it myself.

Spit on your finger and rub the spot over and over.. Slowly the spot will reduce to barely noticable. I have done this several times and it worked.

Armor-All works will remove it. Spray a lot of it directly on the stain and scrub away. After 10 minutes of scrubbing, the ink should start to seperate from the leather. Make sure you remove all of the armor all from the leather when you're done.

Decided not to start a new thread since this was started by Msray a while back.....but Damnit...got my car valet parked and by the time I got my GS back it was dark already. So the next day I find this huge 9 inch ball point pen line on the driver seat. I know I didn't do it since I hate ball point pens...always used rollerballs.

Anyways anyone figured out how to get rid of that ink. So far I have tried leather cleaners and rubbing alcohol and spit and a lot of elbow grease. No luck the cleaner took it down a notch... the rubbing alcohol almost caused some damage...literally...Do not use rubbing alcohol.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

Stupid valet people...and there are other nice cars on the lot too...I am sure it happened to others at the restaurant (Gladstones in Malibu). Next time I am getting black leather....no doubt.

I think it just takes time....be gentle and careful and just use leather conditioner every couple days and after time it will just go away. Mine is completely gone now. I was worried and scrubed and scrubed the first couple days and almost caused some damage. All it took was time and persistance. Keep in mind that you dont want to over do it and cause the one portion to be more worn then the rest.

Do they still make that leather repair kit to get rid of cuts and scratches?

I have some industrial cleaner that yo can't buy in stores. It's called Powerball. It removes everything, I've never seen such strength, and surprisingly when i use it on the leather in my e class, it removes it all, and so far hasn't damaged the leather. Although I did leave some by accident on the rear seat (a few drops) one day, and wiped it off, and a layer of the leather stripped off, but it is barely noticeable. =]
