Are new Strut Mounts needed?
Hey Guys,
I'm having new Tokico Blues and Tanabe Coil Springs put on it my 1992 SC400. I think this is the first time its ever been done. One of the shops I'm getting quotes from to do the work is quoting new Strut Mounts. Do I really need new ones? I've heard I can reuse the original ones...or are mine possibly too old. How can I tell?

I had the same setup installed yesterday on my 93 SC300 (143k freeway miles). I got a look at the old strut mounts and I would recommend installing new ones. Not only for the potential of a better ride but also because the old ones have most likely cracked or broken and will not provide any protection to the new struts.
