As some of you might remember, my car was broken into and pretty much my entire center cosole was raped along with my window.
After being car-less for a month and a half , I finally got my car back and went to a local stereo shop to have my new replacement system installed.
I drop my car off and go out to grab a lunch. I come back 2 and a half hours later.
The employee greets me with a weird smile. " Hey~ you made it back. "
I say, "Hey~ how are we doing on my car?"
"Well... let's see... um.. I got something to show you."
I think there must've been some problem with my Alpine 9833 installation. I follow. I don't notice anything as I am walking toward the back of my car. I go towards the front and I almost drop a brick.
My bumper destroyed. (replaced 4 months ago, after a brick on a road destroyed my JIC bumper)
As it turns out, the employee hit a curb of their parking lot as he parked my SC. $@%@#$%#%#$
I HAD THIS CAR IN A SHOP FOR 5 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say " ah F***... ah... F**** "
The damn manager didn't say 'sorry' till the moment I left the building in utter anger. I am so pissed. They tell me they will take care of everything but how will they repay my emotional distress and time that will be wasted commuting on bus to school and work? ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did a little calculation. It comes out that I am replacing my bumper every 4 months. 4 times total. 3 JIC bumper gone, and this time a bomex bumper gone.
Do you think it will be too much if I ask them to pay for retal car?
soooooo soorry to hear about that man, that SUCKS at least they told you, some places would try to play it off at first to see if you dont notice. a rental would def. not be out of the question... they are inconveniencing you OR they can pay for your install and parts good luck and let us know what happens...

I doubt these bastards will pay for rental...but I'll try to ask politely anyways.
And this was an insurance job, so I don't pay for the labor or parts. I'm sure they will send a huge invoice to AAA after doing -such a great- job.
man that bits. hell no it would not be to much to ask.it was their fault. i would talk to my ins com if they dont want to. they have a way of making people pay for what they dont want too. once agian im sorry for your troubles.
Yup, damn right they're responsible for the inconvienence. If you backed out of their shop and ran over some of their equipment they'd hold you responsible. Like Brian said I'd definitely speak on it and not be shy, but just don't be an azhole about it. If they refuse to do anything tell your insurance company.
no no, file a claim thru THERE insurance and let them pay. so your rates dont go up for THERE mistake.
i feel your pain but my bumper isn't cracked from audio techs mine is from my bros. using my car like a pick-up truck good luck on w/e that happens
damn dude... youve hit a bad luck pocket! I love your car too. I hope you get it back up to snuff. and i say yeah, ask them for a rental. They F'ed it up, they pay for it, and the inconvinence. Thats why they have insurance. Yeah, that looks like more than just hitting the Concrete curb... that looks like they hit the curb, jumped over it and then backed out.
i think i would have thrown up right then and there. I would be so pissed i would go into shock. let their insurance handle it. thats their fault, they owe you a rental car, new bumper, new paint, hell they should make their services free of charge as well if they were smart. that is unacceptable, this pisses me off and thats not even my car.
I have to agree bro.....first off I'm sorry for your troubles.....second....its there problem not yours....let them pay for a rental whether it be through their pocket or their insurance company.....dont let tem charge a dime to your insurance company...handle those fools....They know what you as a consumer is capable of....dont let them screw you for that.....my .02
