If You’re Waiting for a Lexus LC F, Patience May Be a Virtue

Back in January, when the LC 500 was first debuting, we wrote about the possibility of seeing an LC F version sometime down the road. Well, now we’re getting a better idea of when that will be. And it’s not soon.

According to Automobile magazine’s latest issue, the LC F will finally hit dealership floors sometime in 2019. Considering the “regular” LC 500 should be available by early next year, that seems like a ways off.

Aside from that nugget, and the lovely new render above, the venerable mag also offers up some unofficial details about the souped up LC. So take them for what you will:

“Lexus has promised nothing wearing the F badge will have an engine smaller than a V-8, so look for the same naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 from the LC 500 tuned toward the 500-hp mark. If the LC 500’s 10-speed automatic proves to be better for smoothness than performance, Lexus will probably swap in an eight-speed automatic. Expect a torque-vectoring system, beefed-up brakes, lightweight wheels, more aggressive aerodynamics, a rear defuser, and quad exhaust outlets.”

Keep in mind that these are just rumors, which were compiled by Lexus Enthusiast along with some other recent rumors about the LC 500’s tougher brother. Most notably, there’s talk of a turbo engine replacing the naturally aspirated V-8 that’s the current workhorse of the F lineup. But don’t worry, if that’s the case, it sounds like it’ll be a rumbler that makes upwards of 600 hp.

Regardless of the final product, when we eventually see the thing, you can be rest assured it’ll have F written all over it.
