Toyota Sponsors Car in One Lap of America Race
The One Lap of America race is coming up very soon, and with that, more and more details about this year’s entries are leaking out. However, it’s not just the rich playboys or super fast muscle car guys that are getting in on the fun, but two engineers from Toyota will also be participating in this year’s festivities. Using a TRD Scion FR-S, the two engineers will compete against some of the coolest cars and amateur drivers in the world.
“A race like the One Lap, is a true test of man and machine, said . Not only is the vehicle pushed to its limits covering nearly 4,000 miles in seven days with race events at 10 racetracks along the way, but the driver and co-driver are pushed to the max as well having to endure long hours in transit between events with no support crew to help with repairs or maintenance along the way,” says lead driver and Toyota Instrumentation Engineer Anthony Magagnoli in the video below.
The two will be helped along by an additional 10-person support crew, who are also employees of Toyota here in the states. Both drivers have extensive professional racing experience and will be hitting every single stop for this year’s One Lap. Cross your fingers Toyota fans, this just got interesting. All the racing footage, and in car video will be posted after each day on the Toyota PE motorsports page on FaceBook.
