Super-Sized Sienna Minivan Is Here to Avenge Dissed Soccer Moms
Remind me to stop making soccer mom jokes about minivans. Honestly, they’re just not as funny knowing this beast could come rolling up mid-joke.
What you see here is not middle-aged, retired, soccer-coaching Bruce Wayne’s Batmobile, but rather Toyota’s Ultimate Utility Vehicle. It’s basically a Toyota Sienna body thrown onto a Tacoma truck chassis, buffed out, matted black, and sporting a burly suspension, sinister ultra-wide wheels, a wild front bumper with a winch peering out, and even rear-hinged front doors, just for that added cinematic effect.
Obviously this beast is destined for SEMA later this year, but she’s got a mission to attend to first. The UUV is one of nine vehicles taking part in the North American leg of what Toyota is calling its “Ever-Better Expedition.” It sounds like one of the coolest perks ever, as employees will be participating in a “global driving project designed to support and unite Toyota’s 330,000 worldwide team members in their mission to create ever-better vehicles,” according to Toyota’s press release announcing the endeavor.
The UUV and the Ever-Better Expedition are being launched in conjunction with Toyota unveiling plans for their new North American headquarters in Plano, Texas, which is definitely a huge deal. You can see the progressive plans in the video below. And if you keep your eyes peeled across the country, you might even see the UUV. So careful what you say about minivans.
