Special Edition LF-SA Concept Stuns Milan Design Week
If you love Lexus, it’s probably a good bet you’re a fan of Lexus design. As well you should be. Lexus puts a ton of money into design, and it shows in most everything they do. So it would make sense that Lexus likes to show off such design strength. Hey, if you’ve got it, flaunt it. And let the world behold your greatness.
There’s certainly some greatness-beholding going on in Italy right now, as Lexus is debuting the Matte White Lexus LF-SA Concept at Milan Design Week. It’s the same concept which was first introduced at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show (video below), only all dressed up for the world’s largest design exhibition.
Since the good design work goes right down to the website, I’ll let Lexus describe the special dressing for you:
“An exploration of the linkage between Lexus and the ‘Senses’ theme. The design of the car is emphasized by a cocoon of convex mirrors reflecting the car in unexpected ways and revealing lines that are normally hidden from view. Multi-colored illuminations add yet another dimension to the experience, creating a flow of motion and color that stimulates the senses and the imagination.”
The debut is actually part of a larger Lexus exhibit titled “A Journey of the Senses,” where the theme of sensory importance is further established with not just the LF-SA installation, but also with dedicated areas for the Lexus Design Award finalists and art/food combo exhibit.
Yes, food. The main men behind the three-stage journey are world-famous space designer Philippe Nigro and even more world-famous chef Hajime Yoneda. Cause really, you can’t excite the senses without a chef.
But a space designer? I’m sure he’s good at his job, but how exactly did he get that job? (Or a better question: how the heck do I get that job?)
Regardless, if you’re in Milan, check out his handy work. Even if you’re not, head over to the beautiful website to
Ultimately, all of this design effort fosters the idea of “shaping a better future through design,” as Toyota’s press release explains. Well, so far so good.
