Say Bonjour to the Lexus UX Concept
Doesn’t it seem like Auto Show Season just ended? Or does it ever really end? Either way, the 2016 Paris Motor Show will soon be upon us, and judging from the teaser photo above, Lexus is looking to make it memorable.
Say “bonjour” to the Lexus UX Concept, that’s set to be revealed in Paris in less than 21 days.
As you’d expect from a teaser, we don’t have much to go on, other than the photo above, a countdown to the concept’s September 29th reveal, and this mysterious blurb:
Lexus announced today that the Lexus UX Concept will make its world debut on September 29 at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. Created at Lexus’ European Design Centre, ED2, its bold design language strongly differentiates its identity to appeal to a progressive, urban audience, while also showcasing imaginative technologies to offer an immersive driver experience.
So yeah, not much to go on, other than some catchy buzz words and a photo that looks a lot like another SUV.
Which all sounds and looks well and awesome, of course, but it does raise the question: why is Lexus debuting another SUV, even if it is “just” a concept that’s slightly smaller than its siblings? Obviously the RX is the marque’s bread and butter, and the NX is quickly becoming its jam, so what gives? Could another, smaller SUV be in the works? Lexus did trademark the “UX200, UX250 and UX250h monikers with the European Union Intellectual Property Office this summer,” according to CarScoops.
Well, for now, I’ll leave that speculation up to you fine folks, as we should know something a lot more tangible in a few weeks. In the meantime, are you ready for some auto shows?!
