Pure Sport: Lexus GS 350 F Sport vs Cadillac CTS VSport
Oh… Now this is a good comparison. We know (and love) the Lexus GS 350 F Sport. It’s actually my favorite Lexus to drive right now, and likely will be until the RC comes out.
But then there’s the Cadillac CTS Vsport. If you’re looking for a worth opponent, this is it.
Both myself (and MotorTrend apparently) are pretty fond the handling and overall performance of the GS… But the CTS Vsport is a beast. I should make it clear that this is not the V8 CTS-V. The VSport is a V6 twin-turbo V6 sedan that fits in the same price range as the Lexus. As tested, the VSport costs $60,000 to the Lexus’ $58,000. For that extra cash, you get 430 horses and 430 lb-ft of torque to the Lexus’ 306 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Needless to say, the Lexus has it’s work cut out for it.
Still, counting the GS out on that account is jumping the gun a little bit. It might not have the straight line speed of the Caddy, but it weighs a lot less and and costs much less. They tester the have costs fifty-eight grand, but the F Sport starts at $53,280. Will those savings be enough to win over MotorTrend’s Johnny Lieberman? See for yourself below.
