Dare to Dream: Lexus LC F Would Pack Quite a Punch
Make no mistakes about it, the upcoming 2018 LC 500 will be every bit of a performance car. But that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t benefit from the F treatment.
Though it hasn’t been officially confirmed, we’ve already heard from the The Detroit Bureau that after the LC 500 drops, Lexus is planning on rolling out an LC F (as well as an LC Hybrid.) So it just makes sense that those those crazy dreamers at TopSpeed would go ahead and imagine not just what an LC F would look like, but also what it would perform like.
Using the RC and the RC F as a comparative guide, TopSpeed created the render above. And then they put some educated guesses into what the LC F will be packing.
From a looks perspective, they expect the shape and size of the LC 500 will transfer to the F, but with the addition of a new, more aggressive body kit, rear wing, vented hood, and other enhancements. Also of note, all the shiny chrome parts of the LC 500 would get beautifully blacked-out. And the carbon fiber roof that will come as an LC 500 option will come standard on the F.
The inside of the LC F should also look similar yet more athletic than the “base,” with better-fitting integrated foam seats, a flat-bottom wheel, and a fancy instrument panel. Also, don’t forget the carbon fiber and aluminum inserts. You gotta have those.
As for the pep, TS expects the LC F to get upwards of 600 horsies and 450 lb-ft of torque from the same V8 in the LC 500. Not bad at all, considering the LC 500 is “only” expected to gets 467 hp and 389 lb-ft.
With all the other German competitors offering high-performance variants of most models, the LC F would be a welcome offering from Lexus. So it doesn’t hurt to speculate a little about such an awesome car, right?
