IS Hybrid Trace Your Road Video is Virtually Awesome
There's no way I'd be able to wrap my head around--much less explain--all the technical witchcraft which went into creating this video. What I can tell you is that it's a pretty slick blend of virtual and reality.
Basically, passengers were tasked with drawing out a route on a iPad, and the route was projected on to the floor of an aircraft hanger in real time. Former F1 shoe Jarno Trulli--who won at Monaco in 2004--was charged with following the twisting paths. It's an impressive display of driving chops and technical prowess, and I bet it was also one hell of a good time. As crazy as this set up looks one video, I can't imagine how it must have looked in person. Enjoy.
