Toyota Announces Outline of Lexus Dealer Network in Japan

Tokyo � TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) released an outline today of the dealer network for its Lexus brand, which is to be introduced to Japan in August 2005. |
The Lexus brand, in Japan 's increasingly competitive luxury vehicle market, aims to be �a new global premium brand for the 21st century� responsive to the growing number of customers who place more emphasis than in the past on a �sense of the best� and individuality. It will provide high-quality products and an unparalleled purchasing experience and after-sales service.
In order to achieve this, Toyota will establish 180 Lexus specialty dealers nationwide. When the Lexus brand launches in Japan in August 2005, 140 such dealers will go into operation. By the end of 2005 the Lexus brand dealer network will comprise 150 dealers. The high-quality product lineup will initially comprise the GS, SC and IS vehicle series, with the LS vehicle series to be available from the summer of 2006. Based on the �customer always comes first� policy, the Lexus brand intends to be �a new global premium brand for the 21st century�, pursuing the essence of luxury by providing high-quality products, as well as an unparalleled purchasing experience and after-sales service.
