New Video of the LFA Code X Racecar
We spent some time a little while back paying homage to the Lexus LFA Code X Racecar. Naturally though. It’s a pee in your pants exciting vehicle, the kind of tweaked out Frankenstein mutant vehicle that you only see once in awhile – made in partnership with Gazoo Racing. More “research vehicle” than anything; all to participate in a 24 hour race at the Nürburgring.
To jog your memory, the LFA’s now classic 4.8-liter, V10 screamer will be bored out to 5.3-liters and spin up to 12,000 RPM. And the body itself will include a full carbon frame on top of a rumored elongated wheelbase.
What better way to experience this madness than by watching a dramatically shot montage courtesy of the people at Gazoo Racing. The video plays to a heart palpatation inducing soundtrack. It sounds like something Hans Zimmer would compose were he awake for 172 hours, and started composing hopped up on Sudafed and gummy bears (no actual word on the soundtrack since the video description is in Japanese, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I was on the mark with Hans).
From pit crew to roll out, slow pans on meticulously shot details and wrenching. All, topped off with a nice little cherry. Hearing the LFA howl out onto the track.
