Lexus Shows Off Synchronized Drones in Swarm Video

This is probably the coolest advertisement Lexus has ever done. The crazy thing is that there’s not even a car in it. Just several dozen tiny quad-rotor robots flying around a museum. It’s… pretty amazing.

At first I was skeptical and thought that the whole thing was just some neat CG, but it’s actually real. Those really are little robots flying in sync around real objects. It might look like they have a mind of their own, but their movements are actually the end product of a lot of careful coordination.
