This is going to be heartbreaking news for Lexus race fans. Apparently the factory IS F CCS-R–which was set to campaign the 2014 Macau Grand Prix–crashed during practice. Rumor is that this IS F CCS-R is equipped with the more powerful RC F engine.
The following pictures show the car in practice, along with the severity of the frontal damage. This race would have been a great opportunity to see the thoroughbred car lap the famous track, but even for the best in the business, racing is filled with peril. The annals of the sport are filled with far more carnage than coronation.
Fortunately, Lexus is committed to its racing program, and it’d be foolish to underestimate the factory’s chances next year.
