Future Lexus SC?
Are we getting closer to a replacement Lexus SC? By the look of things, it certainly looks promising. In the latest issue of Best Car Magazine, a new rendering of what the next Lexus SC has been published. Heavily massaged off the Lexus LF-LC Hybrid Concept, this SC rendering has the qualities of being the next generation and more.
The signature spindle grille is the basis for the front end accented by the controversial split LED DRL and headlamp assemblies . An IS F like exhaust treatment may appear like it did on the LF-LC concept and we expect the SC to carry the sexy and timeless look of the first generation. Best Car says a hybrid powertrain that may come from the GS 450h and a 4.6L V8 with roughly 500 HP may join the line up. We hope there will also be a high powered “SC F” to rival the Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG.
The LF-LC Hybrid Concept was first introduced at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and has since built a Blue Opal version later that year which was introduced in Australia. It’s a good sign when Lexus has introduced coupés as concepts but the biggest question is when will it come? Since the haitus of the SC 430 in 2010, Lexus has been left without a flagship coupe leaving the IS Convertible as the only 2 door offering. Lexus SC fans have had no where to turn, especially those who didn’t care for the awkward bubbly appearance of the SC 430 hard top convertible. Our fingers are crossed for the future of SC!
