Big in Japan: NX Orders at Home Soaring Through the Roof
Lexus was expecting the NX to be the next hot-seller–but just how hot came as a surprise. In Japan, Lexus was expecting to move about 700 NX a month. But between the release on on July 29th and September 3rd–just a little over a month–the company has received an amazing 9500 orders.
Yup, you read that right. For those playing along at home, that’s almost 14 times the original sales estimate.
Of course, filling all those orders might make for some trouble for Lexus–but that’s the kind of trouble which makes other automakers envious. The NX is slated to hit US dealerships in mid-November, and the company also expects the car to be pretty well-received stateside as well. Obviously, we’ll have to see the sales numbers, but I wouldn’t be surprised if supply becomes tight. So if you want to get your NX in time for Christmas? Start planning now!
