New LF LC Prototype Spied by Matt Farah
Lexus recently debuted the stunning LF LC concept — essentially a higher horsepower and more beautiful car than the RC F. It’s essentially Lexus’s grand GT coupe. When it debuted, the car was said to feature a 600-horsepower, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which if proven true, would also make it one of the fastest cars the company has ever produced.
Since then, Lexus has been pretty much mum about the project, which is odd, since the company was doing its best to showcase the concept in every form and paint color it could. But lately, nothing. Not a peep from Lexus. All we got in the interim was a patent that stated Lexus now owned the LC nameplate. Now, however, it looks as if we’ve got our first confirmation that the LF LC might actually be making production.
A few days ago a Lexus coupe was spied in camouflage, and it definitely resembles the original LF LC design. Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, posted the above shot on Instagram with the caption: “Cool prototype in the canyons flanked by a 911, a 650i, and a Lexus LS. Guesses? I say new 6-series. *update* confirmed this is the Lexus LF-LC production prototype.”
He then posted the shot below, saying, “Another angle of this prototype. Exhaust says Lexus but no idea here. Really good camp job by this lot. *confirmed* Lexus LF-LC production prototype!”
We’re not sure who gave Farah confirmation, but the camouflaged mule was spotted somewhere in Los Angeles over the weekend as it was out testing. While Farah wasn’t in his Million Mile Lexus at the time, making for what could have only been an amazing photo, he was on hand to capture these two images before being shooed away.
So, what do you all think of the car, from what you can see? Could this indeed be the new LF LC?
