Nasty Lexus IS F Drag Racing Crash

When you get your shifts perfectly timed and you’re nailing the top of the rev range, horsepower can be a thing of beauty. On the other hand, very quickly it can become a nightmare where everything in the world seems to go wrong.

That’s certainly what happens in the EKanooRacingTV video below.

This is EKanoo Racing’s twin-turbocharged Lexus IS F. It’s fast as… Well, let’s just say it’s supremely fast and usually smokes the competition.

But not this time.

The car launches properly, and starts speeding down the track. Then all hell breaks loose. At about the 100-foot mark, the car’s nose seems to catch an updraft and it’s all over. The IS F goes completely vertical and crashes sideways, half-way up the fencing, as a horrified crowd looks on. The impact with the wall is so violent that it actually sends the car up and over the extremely tall fencing.

Thankfully, the guys that built this crazy IS F built a ridiculously good roll cage, and the driver was uninjured.

There’s a few more angles and lots of commentary over in the Club Lexus forum, so head on over there and tell us what you think.
