Lexus LF-LC Might Pack Over 600 Horsepower!
Sadly, we won’t see another performance car from Lexus like the LFA for a long time. But in the meantime, Lexus is working away at a new sports coupe to sit about the RC line and deliver epic results. Called the LF-LC, we expect it to have a few different engine options. But for the big V8 version, it could make over 600 horsepower.
Citing Automobile Magazine as a source, the folks over at Automotive News (but not THAT Automotive News) believe that the top-of-the-line F version will sport a huge twin-turbo V8 making over 600 horsepower.
The 600 number is a relatively easy one to believe, considering the 5.0L V8 in the RC-F right now makes in the mid-400s, and that’s naturally aspirated. With a healthy dose of boost and some proper tuning, 600 should be easily obtainable. Heck, the twin-turbo 3.5L V6 that Ford uses in their trucks will power the Ford GT to over 700 horsepower.
Positioning of this car will be important. While the entry-level version of the car might be in the price range of the current RC-F, we expect the twin-turbo version to be much more expensive. Though, a 600+ horsepower luxury sports coupe is more competition for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe than a BMW 4 Series.
We’ll pass along more information as we get it, but it’s starting to look like the LF-LC might be a serious performance package!
