Lexus Tries out Tesla Style No Haggle Prices
Recently, automakers have come under fire for the poor quality of experiences at the companies dealerships across the United States. With Tesla trying out direct sales, where the middle men of dealerships are cut out, more and more automakers are looking into the model to see if it’s viable.
For year, dealerships have been seen as the worst part of the chain between producing a car and getting it into the a customer’s driveway. This fact has now inspired Lexus to begin conducting a new, no-haggle price experiment at 12 of its dealerships.
According to Lexus’s Division General Manager Jeff Bracken, the executive said that the experiment was an attempt to further “elevate the already-praised Lexus customer experience.” By using a single price, where negotiation isn’t necessary, Lexus hopes to attract other buyers that are already sick of dealing with pushy salespeople throughout the industry. Especially those of BMW and Mercedes who have a habit of tacking on extra things to the price.
People have seen the ease at which Tesla owners buy cars, and there is now more demand for that sales model. Of course, dealerships and dealer unions will most likely fight this change tooth and nail, but it’s been a long time coming. The way dealerships are run nowadays just isn’t in the best interest of the customer, and customers are demanding a change.
Maybe this Lexus model could be the change people have been waiting for?
