Thanks to NX, Lexus Tops New Luxury Vehicle Registrations
At the end of every month, all the major automakers take some time to publicly report their vehicle sales figures. But those numbers don’t actually reflect a total number of new vehicles actually registered. When you look at that data for the first part of this year, it shows that Lexus is leading the way in people actually driving new luxury cars.
Through the end of April, 106,549 new Lexus vehicles were registered. Second place goes to BMW with 103,581, and rounding out the podium is Mercedes-Benz with 103,393 registrations.
The ticket to Lexus’s success is the small NX crossover. The already hot segment was made hotter by the introduction of the Lexus, and sales have been strong. Not only that, but it sells at a great price point.
Both BMW and Mercedes-Benz have tried to enter the lower price point in the past, but they haven’t seen the same sales success that Lexus has. It also doesn’t hurt that many of the reviews of the new NX are positive.
Lexus has been on the registration rebound since 2011, and refreshed offerings are surely going to boost those numbers even higher!
