There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding Lexus’ rumors and teaser photos of the upcoming RC-F. There’s a few things we know already. The new reveal will debut in Detroit and fall within Japanese automaker’s F performance line.
Here’s some new info:
According to an anonymous tip to Autoblog with accompanying link to an exclusive unveiling event, the new vehicle will officially wear the RC 350 name. It’s going to be a two-door coupe with two engine options:
- Standard version: 3.5 liter, 306-hp V-6
- RC-F version: 460-hp V-8
The event invite and materials give off a a distinctly exclusive, speakeasy feel. To follow the theme, there’s an advertised performance by Ben Sharkey, a rising star in Detroit’s Jazz scene. As the below image and event RSVP page dictate, the messaging for this unveiling centers around an additional step into the high-end luxury performance market.
The buzz:
- Dynamic and alluring
- Strong sport-nature
- High performance and thrilling handling
- World-class luxury
As we know, a mixed bag of marketing buzzwords doesn’t make a great car, but if Lexus is able to deliver on some of the promising teasers and concept sketches we’ve been seeing float around, we couldn’t be more thrilled.
