Lexus Testing New LFA and RC F Racers at the Green Hell
Lexus is taking a pair of cars to the 24 Hours of Nurburgring this year, and we just got some great footage of them in practice.
You see, that is one of the interesting things about the ‘Ring. In sports like Formula One, the teams are restricted on development time and what tracks they can use. But the Nordschleife is a public highway, and the racers are road legal, so Lexus can test them as much as they damn well please.
In the 60-second video below, we see both the new LFA Code-X and RC F Sport cars blasting through a few corners, and not very gingerly. In the first clip, the RC F comes in so hot that it understeers just a bit towards the outside wall before gaining traction and flying through the turn.
If there is anything wrong with this video it is that the mighty V8 in the RC F sounds pretty bland and boring compared to the hellacious wail of the LFA’s V10, but that is far from a deal breaker.
