Lexus Sells Most Luxury Cars for Second Straight Month
As a Colorado Rockies fan, it’s been a long, painful baseball season. Fortunately, as a Lexus fan, I have at least one winning team to root for this summer.
For the second straight month, Lexus has sold more luxury vehicles than any other car company. More than BMW. More than Mercedes. Now that’s a pretty good winning streak!
Lexus sold 33,487 vehicles in August. While you were on vacation, sunning yourself, fattening up at some all-you-can fried fish joint on the coast, Lexus was selling a boatload of cars. That’s a strong 2.1 percent year over year growth for the month of August.
Perhaps that’s because a year ago Lexus wasn’t selling the well-received compact crossover, the NX. At roughly 35k a pop, Lexus moved 4,448 units of the popularly-sized, popularly-priced new model.
Monthly titles are great. And winning streaks are even better. But there’s still some work to be done. The real trophy goes to the company that sells the most vehicles for the year. Right now, that’s BMW. But Lexus just passed Mercedes. So tell your friends who aren’t on board yet: the time is right to come on over to Team Lexus.
