Lexus RX Hybrid Named Green Vehicle of Texas
In one of the most fiercely competitive segments in the automotive industry, the Lexus RX Hybrid’s modern looks and energy-efficient drivetrain emerged as the “Green Vehicle of Texas” at the 2016 Texas Auto Writer Auto Roundup.
In a massive test drive of the majority of manufacturer’s full line-up of vehicles, the Texas Auto Roundup gives journalists the chance to drive the latest and greatest from most, if not all the prominent auto makers. With heavy competition from the likes of Tesla, Infiniti, and of course, Mercedes Benz, the Lexus RX450h proved that it has what it takes to rise above the competition and wow even the most tenured automotive journalists.
A role-model of efficiency, the completely re-engineered 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine is an evolution of the base six-cylinder drivetrain, producing a combined system output of 308 horsepower, which cleverly manages to still deliver 30 combined mpg. The hybrid-powered drivetrain is the latest, most advanced edition of the Lexus Hybrid Drive system, and one of the big reasons the car was named the “Green Vehicle of Texas.”
Having had the chance to spend a considerable amount of time aboard the Lexus RX350 and RX450h, it’s been clear from the very beginning that even with a slightly higher price tag, the RX450h is definitely the RX to own.
