Lexus RC F GT3 Race Car In-a-Box
Imagine receiving this package in the mail.
Check out the better-than-Christmas-morning video below, which was posted to Lexus’s Facebook page last week, along with this caption: “Introducing the #LexusRCF GT3. Coming soon to a race track near you.”
Nice package, right? This is the new entry for Lexus’s 2017 foray into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, a series that will find the RC F GT3 competing against “Audi R8s, BMW M6s, Ferrari 488s, Lamborghini Huracáns, and Porsche 911s,” according to Road & Track.
Though the car looks dynamite in all its understated beauty, we’re not expecting this to be the race-day livery, as there’s still plenty of prep to be done. The video is actually of the car arriving in Michigan at the shop of 3GT, the team responsible for fielding not one, but two factory-affiliated GT Daytona class cars.
Starting in January, at the 24 Hours of Daytona, drivers Scott Pruett and Sage Karam will pilot the RC F GT3s for Lexus’s first motorsports campaign since 2009. So hopefully that second package arrives soon.
