Lexus Prepares a Filet Nordschleife With a Racecar

I have two passions in life: food and all things that run on gasoline. The two drive me, figuratively, and with one, literally. However, most times when the two are combined, the results aren’t exactly what you would call amazing. Sure, there are instances, such as the Weinermobile and food trucks, but those don’t exactly represent either food or driving all that well. But what happens when you get a super hot racecar and a celebrity chef together? Magic that can only be had at the Nurburgring.

Lexus’s German outfit decided that the idea of putting food and car together deserved a better shot than that of a boring van and mediocre food. Therefore, they brought Mario Kotaska, a Michelin rated celebrity chef, together with a Lexus IS F CCS-R, to prepare one of the fastest, loudest, most succulent meals ever made.

To make the meal, which is also dubbed the Filet Nordschleife, Chef Kotaska borrowed the racecar’s 5.0L V8 engine bay to use as an oven, throughout the course of an entire race. The pairing created something that is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It is nothing short of absolute brilliance, as you can see in the video below. Make sure you stick around till the end, when Kotaska feeds the team the Filet, which they essentially helped cook.

Still, the racer in me has to wonder, wouldn’t sticking some food in the car make it a bit heavier?
