Lexus Planning Second Flagship Model to Accompany LS
The Lexus LS sedan is the company’s current flagship. It receives all of the latest technology first. It has the most luxurious fit and feel. It’s a top-of-the-line car worthy of flagship status. But could Lexus use another flagship? According to Reuters, Lexus is working on another flagship. But what could it be?
Jeff Bracken, Lexus division general manager, is quoted in saying that the company needs a flagship, but don’t expect that flagship to be a sedan.
But what could it be? Signs do point to a luxury SUV model. Many German automakers have a premium luxury SUV at the top of their range. While one could argue the Lexus LX is that model, Lexus seemed to hint to Reuters that it’d be a SUV.
Being fans of performance Lexus vehicles here at Club Lexus, we’re hoping it’s the LF-LC performance coupe or a variant of that.
One thing is for sure, we won’t know about it until January. Bracken says they won’t define their next flagship model until then; presumably at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
What do you think it is? Is it a new SUV or is it another performance vehicle?
