2018 Lexus LC 500: Emotions in Motion

Lexus hopes its ‘most emotional car’ connects with drivers, says Forbes.

A car is a car, right? Four wheels, an engine, gets you where you need to go. But, actually, a car is all that and more. In a recent Forbes review of the 2018 Lexus LC 500, the reviewer explains that when surveyed, people consistently list “quality, reliability, fuel efficiency, safety and convenience features” as important factors when considering purchasing a new car.

However, an important feature that most people don’t mention, for fear of seeming superficial, is styling. Nowadays, all cars have high quality and high safety levels. It’s expected in today’s modern market. So, that’s where styling can make the biggest difference. And, that’s why Lexus was so smart to take the LC 500 from concept car to actual production.

The Forbes review explains that by paying attention to consumers’ positive reactions to the LC 500 concept version, Lexus has created their “most emotional car.” Emotional? How can a car be emotional, you might wonder. Well, Lexus is betting that with the all-new platform and conceptualized styling, drivers will be “more connected than they’ve ever been before.”

In addition, the car is a head-turner and that would make any driver puff up with pride. Beyond its stunning outer appearance, under the hood, the LC 500 delivers all the safety and performance levels that one expects from a Lexus. Check out the Forbes review to see what they have to say about the car’s handling and acceleration, its wheels and state of the art technology, including options of a heated steering wheel and 12-speaker stereo.

A fully-loaded LC 500 will cost $102,000 while the hybrid version, the LC 500h, tops out at $104,000. A limited amount will be available to dealerships, but after reading about its high marks in the Forbes review, there is little doubt that any of these cars will go unsold. In fa ct, Forbes’ review predicts its monumental success, writing: “Given the reaction this car generated [during press day], it’s easy to imagine the LC 500 finding at least 400 buyers a month.” Then again, all things considered, that’s probably a low estimate.
