Lexus Gives RC the Turbo and All-Wheel-Drive Treatment

It’s time to find a bigger dinner table, the Lexus family just got bigger. Leaner, but bigger.

In addition to the already available trim and engine levels for the RC, the 467-horsepower V8 F and the 306-horsepower V6, Lexus announced that it’s adding a 255-horsepower V6 and a 241-horsepower turbo-4. (Please use Billy Mays’ voice here.) But that’s not all! (Please stop.) The F Sport models will have the available options for a limited-slip differential, all-wheel drive will be available on the RC 300, and performance dampers come fitted on the RC 200t and the RC 350 F Sport.

The intercooled 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four should come as no surprise, as every automaker is turning to forced-induction to prepare for stricter emission limits. It’s the same engine that’s already in the IS, GS, and NX, and in the RC, it’s paired with an 8-speed transmission.

The new options and changes will be available for the 2016 models.
