Ken Gushi Chases LFA With Sideways RC F
What happens when you have the largest advertising budget any dealership has ever seen? You hire World Champion drifter Ken Gushi, get two of the fastest Lexus models ever made, and you make the greatest promotional spot in the entire world.
The video, created by OpenRoad Lexus Richmond, has a pretty simple premise. Ken Gushi is some sort of assistant, or perhaps a valet. He arrives in a red LFA and hands the keys to an older gentleman, who gets in the car and drives off. Gushi realizes the older guy left his briefcase, and that just won’t do. Immediately after, an unfortunate man arrives in an RC F, and Gushi jacks his car to give chase after the LFA.
This is where things get fun, and ultra-implausible. Within moments, Gushi is within sight of the LFA that is traveling at what looks like 45 mph. But even with a heavy right foot, Gushi spends the whole chase sideways and smokey, and never gets to catch the boss. Finally, after the LFA is parked and the boss is approaching his private jet, Gushi comes around the back in a huge glorious arc of smoke and noise to park perfectly at the base of the steps and return the forgotten bag.
If I owned a car dealership, I would do every ad like this. It is equal parts fun, memorable, silly and entertaining. And it makes you want both these cars, bad. Just watch it. You will be more than glad you did.
