2014 Lexus IS Announced In Japan
Today, Lexus Japan announces the debut of the 2014 Lexus IS in the Japanese Domestic Market. With anticipation growing for the latest IS line, more details and options have surfaced since the Texas press preview a few months back. Being that JDM Lexus are strictly custom ordered, more options and colors are available in the home market.
Three engine choices will be available for the New IS along with three available option packages for each:
Only the IS 250 will have the option of RWD and AWD. Both IS 350 & IS 300h will only be offered in RWD.
Here are a handful of options that are will not be available for the 2014 IS in the USA:
- LED Foglamps (F SPORT)
- IS 300h (All Models)
- Leather Seating with heated & ventilated seats (F SPORT) Power Folding Mirrors
- NanoE (Air Purifier)
- Approaching Vehicle reporting device (Rear Cross Traffic Alert for the front)
- LED Fog Lamp Option (Regular IS Models)
- Corner View Camera & Monitor
- Lexus Dynamic Handling (LDH) with Rear Steering
Aside from the standard Lexus accessory options, a line up of TRD Japan parts will be available. Both F SPORT & Modellista Parts will be offered for the 2014 IS. No word has been announced if these parts will be exported globally.
In addition to the announcement of the New IS, a brand new and attractive website for Japan is now online. Production of the 2014 IS has commenced a few weeks ago in Tahara, Japan and the first batch of 2014 IS will soon arrive in local dealerships.
