Next Generation IS F With 450+ Horsepower?

What if the next Lexus IS F was bigger and badder? How about 450 horsepower, available in sedan as well as coupe and convertible form and aimed at Deutschland's best? Sound good? So far we think so.

According to the folks at Best Car Magazine, the next Lexus IS F may get 475 PS (469.5 HP) out of a 5.0L V8 and will be available for the first time in coupe and convertible variants. This is welcome news for those looking for a true BMW M3 competitor. Now the big question is, will we see a real 6 speed manual or a dual clutch type transmission? We pray to the Lexus gods for this to happen. So what about that blurb on the GS F? More to come...

Clarence Woods (Tue, 24 Apr 2012 05:03:15 -0700): This is a thing of beauty! must have this...
Brian Durden (Tue, 24 Apr 2012 10:46:10 -0700): It's going to need it, the tri-turbo M3 is going to be a complete beast and will most likely knock on the door of 600hp with bolt-ons plus chip/tune.
Jahmeel Clemons (Tue, 15 May 2012 11:53:24 -0700): I think a 2 door isf will ruin what the car is. In order to pull that off expect Lexus to debut a 2 door is250 is 350 first.
Humi Quidwai (Tue, 15 May 2012 12:20:19 -0700): V-8? Boo, not interested...I will stick to the LFA, if I wanted NA V8 motors I would have been driving American cars years ago..
Chris Rose (Tue, 15 May 2012 14:52:29 -0700): Haters keep on hatin
Humi Quidwai (Tue, 15 May 2012 19:20:01 -0700): No hating here, I love Japanese/euro cars still, I'm just stating a fact. They have been going into the wrong direction for quite some time now, actually maybe not euro so much, but the whole point was more torque, more power in smaller engines. I guess I should just pull the infamous 2jz-ge motor out of my Lexus and drop in an LS1/z06, is all I'm saying, Rose. Lol, but was already done to a gs300, but my main point is stick with the inline-6 and boost it, easy 500-600 hp of pure g-force and fun! Since you made me explain, haha.......
Steve Oblanca (Tue, 15 May 2012 21:34:36 -0700): Damn!
Tyler Day (Tue, 12 Feb 2013 06:17:46 -0800): I love my 08 ISF, premier edition :)
Gene Orico (Sun, 10 Mar 2013 08:21:27 -0700): If you new anything about engines you wouldn't make a stupid statement like that ! The ISF V8 is the premier V8 on the road that has unlimited potential for power built by Yahama ! The HP and Torque difference is only a minus 40. If Lexus adds 500HP to this Engine consider the BMW and the other competitors in its class to be whipped.
(Tue, 11 Jun 2013 12:54:23 -0700): lexus isf v8 is not a normal v8.Give it a try,I think you will be quite impressed.I think it sounds like a bmw v10 but deeper.
Robert Welch (Wed, 10 Jul 2013 20:58:53 -0700): the shelby mustang averages 19.5 mpg, its totally possible. Cars are super efficient these days
