changing your lexus grille

You don’t have to be a Grammy-winning rapper to have a sweet new grille, all you need is a 10mm socket, a wrench, some pliers, and a little faith in your DIY abilities.

For today’s How-To Tuesday project, we’re going to look at an article titled “Lexus IS/GS: How to Remove Grille,” which can be found in theĀ Club Lexus How-Tos section. This article will give you everything you need to know about removing and installing a new grille for your Lexus IS or GS from the years 2005 to 2013.

As far as mods go, this one is rated as “Easy.” The most difficult part of the project is making sure you have a steady hand, so you don’t scratch the bumper while removing the old grille, or installing the new one. You also have to be careful so as to not lose any of the plastic bits that keep the engine cover in place.

Beyond that, you just follow the six easy steps in the article, and you should be good to go. It should only take you about a half-hour or so to complete the mod, which is likely a whole lot less time than you’ll spend looking for the right grille. But isn’t that the fun part?
