Good News! Lexus LC 500 Taking On Hill Climb at Goodwood
The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world’s best showcases of historic motor racing vehicles shaking what their engineers gave them. But this year’s event will also include a new car that’s destined to go down in history: the Lexus LC 500.
The LC 500 will make its hotly anticipated U.K. debut at the legendary fest, which is being held June 23-26. And we’re not just talking about a pedestal debut either, as Lexus’s new flagship coupe will take on the festival’s famed hill climb too. The car will be appearing in the “First Glance” segment, which is “reserved for exciting new models ahead of their market launch,” according to Lexus U.K. (The LC 500 doesn’t officially launch until Spring of 2017.)
Actually, you might as well call this the Goodwood Festival of Lexus, because the marque is bringing along a whole host of F performance cars to show off on the hill climb, including the RC F GT3 race car, the RC F GT Concept, the LFA, and the 2017 GS F.
With such a hot bunch of vehicles, Lexus is making sure they’re all well driven. So they’re bringing Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Mike Conway, multiple Grand Am champion Scott Pruett, and former Formula 1 and current Gazoo driver Alex Wurz to pilot the rocket ships.
Sounds like a good time, don’t you think?
