Gazoo Racing RC F Tracking at Sebring, But What Is It?

Earlier this month, YouTuber Lanky Turtle posted up the video below, which sounds and looks amazing. But he’s not quite sure what he was filming at Sebring that day, and neither are we. Here’s what he had to say about it in the video’s description:
“I don’t know anything about this car or team. The car says Lexus Gazoo Racing and the transporter had Sageauto.com on it which is based in California. This doesn’t seem to be associated with the new 3GT/ F Performance team that will be running IMSA next year.”
Indeed, the livery is much different than the sexy GT3 that 3GT uncrated last week. Although we do know that team will be racing two different race cars for the IMSA 2017 season, so perhaps this is the other one?
Lanky Turtle put it out to the community to see if anyone else had any answers. Most seem to agree that it’s a GT4, perhaps getting ready for action in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge Series or the Pirelli World Challenge series. Another commenter suggested it might be the same RC F concept that topped the Lighting Lap this year, but re-liveried for Gazoo. And even more hopeful, a final commenter thought that this might be a track-day special RC F.
Regardless of what this RC F’s getting ready for, we know one thing: its competition is plenty scared right about now.
