Cool Lexus Ads For The Summer: CT & IS
From the ultra chic to ultra performance, Lexus kicks off the summer with two cool TV spots for their best selling luxury compact hybrid CT and their best selling compact luxury sports sedan the IS. During the filming of the IS commercial, one of our own members happened to spot the production in action!
Entitled “Miles”, this new CT ad features the stylish hybrid hatch traveling an interesting 42 miles (actually 39) and only using up one gallon of gas. 42 mpg combined is phenomenal for any luxury brand. The catchy beat is Beck’s remix of “Get Some” by Swedish artist Lykke Li. Because of the CT’s European influence, it was appropriate to give this new commercial a European vibe with a twist of SoCal style.
The IS commercial homologates your favorite race track turn with a familiar curve of real driving roads. From the high speed banking of Turn 1 at Daytona all the way to the Horseshoe of Twin Peaks Blvd in San Francisco, there is a perfect Lexus in the IS performance line to tackle those obstacles. Ironically most of the street scenes were filmed on California roads. Two of the scenes were taken in San Francisco. The first one was the north end of Twin Peaks Blvd, and the other which wasn’t named was Sunset Blvd where the 5 IS models were driven in formation. By chance our own member “CLIS250” spotted the 5 IS formation on Sunset Blvd as it happened. Check it out!
