Climb on Board as Lexus LFA Code X Tackles 24 Hours Nürburgring
We’re all well aware of the dangers of the Nürburgring track in Nurburg, Germany. You know, they don’t call it “The Green Hell” for nothing.
But apparently the organizers of the ADAC Zurich 24-Hour Race at Nürburgring didn’t think the track was dangerous enough, because they wanted to up the risk factor by creating one of the ultimate endurance tests in the sport of racing. With 24 hours of driving comes two very real added risks to the already dangerous undertaking: fatigue and darkness.
Well, the video below has all of that, and more. Much more, since we’re talking about the LFA Code X. The clip features 12+ minutes of rockstar driver Takuto Iguchi pushing the LFA through the grueling night. Fortunately he’s got that roaring V10 to keep him company.
Also driven by Masahiko Kageyama, Hiroaki Ishiura, and Kazuya Oshima, the LFA Code X competed admirably, finishing 14th overall and first in the SP-PRO class. It was one of two GAZOO Racing cars to compete in the race, the other one being the new RC, which finished fourth in the SP 3T class, 39th overall.
