Car and Driver Compares RC 350 F Sport to Justin Bieber
You know you’re not going to love an RC 350 F Sport review when it compares the car to Justin Bieber. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what Car and Driver does, right up top in their three way comparison between the 2015 Audi S5, Cadillac ATS Coupe 3.6, and Lexus.
Here’s the context:
“The three premium coupes in contention here pit youthful cunning against confident maturity. The Cadillac ATS and Lexus RC350 F Sport are the class’s pop celebs; think Justins, as in Timberlake and Bieber. Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood—with 60 years of acting, directing, and scoring to his credit—is the Audi S5 analogue.”
Ouch. The RC 350 F Sport didn’t even get compared to the good Justin, the one who’s at least bringing sexy back.
Though I was somewhat afraid to read on, for the sake of you fine folks, I did. And honestly, it doesn’t get much better.
C&D doesn’t have very many nice things to say about the car. Unfortunately for Lexus, they don’t go for that “if you don’t have anything nice to say” spiel either, as the venerable mag moans about the RC 350 F Sport’s grip, cornering speed, power to weight distribution, stopping distance, ride motion, brake pedal “mushiness,” and “crippling understeer.”
And that’s just the performance of the car. Somehow, C&D also found plenty of faults with the interior, a place Lexus usually shines. Although to be fair, the mag does seem to like the “barely audible” turn signal clicks. So we’ve got that going for us. Which is nice.
But then the real pain drops. C&D doesn’t just compare the RC 350 F Sport to Bieber, they compare it to Bieber just getting on stage “after a tour-bus binge.” So not even Biebs at his best (if there is such a thing.)
