Canadian Road Rage? With a Lexus Driver? No Way, Eh
Aren’t Canadians pacifist by nature? If you drive a Lexus, aren’t you just happy all the time?
Well, apparently these two truths, which I had always taken to be self-evident, are not always… well, true. How else can you explain the video below, which features a news crew interviewing a local Toronto officer on top of an overpass, about a fatal collision that occurred nearby. Then, all of a sudden a real-live road rage incident breaks out below. The interviewer alerts the officer, Ontario Provincial Police Constable Graham Williamson, who has to yell at the guys from above, like a grumpy dad yelling at the kids downstairs. He even yells, “Grow up!”
Sadly, one of the guys involved is driving a Lexus, which appears to be an IS. Even sadder is how close his IS appears to be to the car in front. Which may just be why these guys are about to go to blows in the first place. But that’s conjecture.
What’s not conjecture, and perhaps the saddest part of this situation, is that the Lexus driver really is wearing those shorts.
Fortunately, just before fisticuffs, Dad talks these two kids down from the brink, with another gem. “Both of you grow up! Come on, boys!” he says, with heavy emphasis on the b. The boys finally listen, and head back to their respective vehicles.
Graham finishes his fantastic police work by rightfully declaring that, “Everybody’s a winner.” It may be the most astute refereeing I’ve ever heard. This guy should go down to Vegas and get sanctioned for the next Mayweather match, which will likely not be as entertaining.
