Behold Lexus’s 2016 GS F SEMA Car, Fender Vents and All
If you like fender vents, then Lexus’s 2016 GS F SEMA car will be right up your alley.
Whether or not you like them, though, you have to admit: fender vents are a bold call. But that’s just one of the many unique features envisioned by VIP Auto Salon’s Clark Ishihara.
The aftermarket specialist has brought many a cool Lexus to SEMA throughout the years, including a 2011 LS hybrid that was recognized for a design award at the annual show. Which is one of the reasons why Lexus handpicked Ishihara for this year’s GS F SEMA project (as well as an RC F offering).
It’s another showstopper indeed, albeit an understated showstopper as far as SEMA’s concerned — fender vents aside. But really, TopSpeed makes a good point when they say the GS F doesn’t really need much to upgrade its sporty look. And at SEMA, there’s something to be said for showing off aftermarket upgrades that people might actually want.
As far as exterior enhancements, Ishihara added a carbon fiber front lip spoiler, a side step, a rear diffuser, and those stark fender vents. There’s also a new hood vent, and custom Vossen 20-inch lightweight forged wheels. And light tweaks to the interior, where it received a carbon fiber steering wheel, some subtle dashes of Alcantara, and more.
Where it counts, this baby’s got a new cold-air intake and a full header back exhaust system with titanium tips. No official numbers were disclosed by Lexus or Ishihara, but TopSpeed reckons the usual 467-hp V8 could see as many as 500 ponies.
What do you think? Does your GS F suddenly need some aftermarket love?
