From the looks of these concept vehicles, there’s no question that Lexus continues to pave the way for exceptional cars that offer a unique blend of performance and luxury. Check out what Lexus has in mind for the future of automotive ingenuity.

1. LF-C2

LF-C2

The LF-C2 concept was revealed in 2014 as a sports coupe roadster with no top. That’s right – no top whatsoever. This luxury GT was designed with the curvature that plays off of light coming from different angles, allowing it to “exude a different character” depending on where you view it from. In accentuating the fluidity of having no top, the center console begins at the dashboard and flows back and upward, all the way to the rear deck. The rear seating looks quite spacious for a roadster. The roadster design is what makes this concept stand out.

2. LF-SA

LF-SA

The LF-SA is a 2+2 vehicle with a compact design that still focuses on the driver experience, meaning there’s no driverless technology with this model, although it may feel like you’ve stepped into the cockpit of a virtual reality game. It’s Lexus’ response to the buyer that values a tinier, more fuel-efficient car without having to sacrifice style and quality. I’d imagine driving an LF-SA is like stepping into a mini spaceship on wheels.  Inspired by the phenomenon of a solar eclipse, the interior finish is a nod to space exploration and features a touchscreen infotainment system. What’s better, the ignition is a push button appropriately labeled “LAUNCH.”

3.LF-FC

LF-FC

The LF-FC visualizes an ultra-luxurious four-door sedan that exists as the brand’s first-ever fuel cell concept. While the exterior is quite remarkable, it’s the interior that really leaves me in awe.  Its backseat alone looks like the most desirable location to end up in for a road trip. The finishes were designed with ultimate comfort in mind, blending wood and leather paneling flawlessly. I hope it’s not just my imagination playing tricks on me, but it looks like there’s some sort of floating hologram incorporated into the center console that’s used to navigate the system. Take a look for yourself here.

4. LF-NX

LF-NX

Revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show, the LF-NX is a compact Crossover SUV that features the Lexus Hybrid Drive system. The design is noticeably masculine and sporty, described concisely by Project Manager Nobuyuki Tomatsu as “concentrated and sharp.” The headlights are some of the most futuristic-looking I’ve ever seen. They’re so thin that it’s amazing to think their design would still be optimal for emitting light. On the inside, your eyes fixate on unique metal surfaces that contrast with fitted leather, as well as the dash console that resembles a DJ mixer.
Overall, the LF-NX concept is a menacing one. It’s the farthest thing from the SUVs that soccer mom’s drive, that’s for sure.

5. LF-CC

LF-CC

The LF-CC, which stands for Lexus Future Coupe Concept, is the brand’s full-hybrid, RWD version of its acclaimed IS model. It features a familiar yet slicker exterior design with components that blend into one another effortlessly. The side mirrors and shark antenna on the roof, for example, are more angular in nature. The 2.5 litre four-cylinder petrol engine enhances the hybrid drive system to provide more power. The interior upholstery is laden with amber leather, and a larger touchscreen command center is the standout showpiece.

6. LF-LC

LF-LC

This Opal Blue Concept Coupe was revealed in Australia in 2012, appropriately named after the naturally occurring opal stone of the outback. You may not expect it from such a powerful sports car, but the LF-LC features Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive and a lightweight body made of carbon fiber and aluminum alloy. The “L” shaped tail lights are intended to mimic a jet afterburner. Realistically, this Concept Coupe delivers 438HP. The interior is just as gorgeous and comes equipped with a sporty steering wheel and impeccable detail throughout.

7. LF-AR

LF-AR

This Lexus Future-Advance Roadster is a convertible version of the LFA supercar. The ivory and red interior is the perfect complement to its striking design. With a V10 engine, it’s probably a good thing the side mirrors have been replaced with cameras on the LF-AR. Although it’s not like you’d expect anyone creeping up next to you with such horsepower!

8. LF-Ch

LF-Ch

The LF-Ch concept debuted in 2009 as a full hybrid hatchback that spared no oversight when it came to enjoyable driving characteristics inside and out. The four-door LF-Ch concept had a sports mode and sleek, tech-savvy interior upgrades like backseat iPhone docks in the front headrests and an LED-trimmed headliner. If this concept looks familiar, that’s because it evolved into the production of the CT 200h, which became available in 2011.

9. LF-X

LF-X

You can think of the LF-X as a mix between the RX crossover and the GX SUV. Its engine is a V8 with plenty of horsepower – 300 to be exact. Style-wise, the exterior doesn’t look like a traditional Lexus, especially with its suicide doors, concave wheels, and overall minimalistic detail.

Moving to the interior, it’s like stepping into the cockpit of a jet with vertical circular gauge clusters and a custom steering wheel fit for a pilot. It’s perhaps the most futuristic-looking, unconventional interior from Lexus as of yet.
