Honestly, if you clicked on this story because of the headline, then you’ve been had, and I apologize. But how else am I supposed to get you excited to watch CNET‘s 2015 Lexus LS 460 L review video below? It’s not like you’ve been clamoring for a new LS vid, right? Not like, say, the new Star Wars trailer that dropped today (which is actually the best vid you’ll see all day).

Alas, if you’re in the market for this “long in the tooth” luxury sedan, you may not have seen the new Star Wars trailer, so perhaps this is your best vid of the day. Sure, it’s not like the guys at CNET are flogging the long-wheel-base 460 L all up and down the Autobahn, but they are giving the 2015 proper marks.

Unfortunately, as the video tells you right up front, since we’re late in the generational cycle, there’s not much new on the 2015 model. Nothing all that exciting at least. Sure, there are some good little improvements across the board, which the review details informatively, but nothing’s gonna fire you up.

Perhaps appropriately, Brian Cooley really kicks off the piece inside the car, which isn’t where you find most reviews starting, so you know we’re in the luxury sedan segment. And Cooley seems appropriately impressed, except for comparing the remote touch controller to playing an ’80s video game with a “worn out joystick.”

Upon taking the boat out to sea, Cooley concludes pretty much what you’d expect anyone to conclude about driving an LS 460: “You’ve got tremendous comfort and serene quality here, the payoff though is you don’t have quite as much driver involvement as the German competitors.”

Which is basically a nice way of saying it’s not very exciting.
